Electronic Stability Program & Electronic Roll Mitigation

Keeping You On The Right Path

Tested and proven, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC)* and Electronic Roll Mitigation Program (ERM) are regarded as two of the most prominent measures in the vehicle technology pillar. Introduced in the market more than 10 years ago, they have proven time and time again that they are one of the greatest benefits in critical driving situations.

The Electronic Stability Control (ESC)* helps the driver maintain directional stability including during braking, cornering, and manoeuvring, and is especially valuable when driving on mixed surface conditions such as snow, ice, or gravel. If there's a discernible difference between what the driver asks through the steering wheel and the vehicle's path, ESC applies selective braking and throttle input to put the vehicle back onto the driver's intended path.

The Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM) is an extension of the Electronic Stability Control (ESC)*. This technology uses input from the ESC sensors to anticipate if the vehicle is at risk of entering a potential roll situation, then reacts immediately, by applying the appropriate braking force individually to reduce the likelihood that such an event will occur.

*No system, no matter how sophisticated, can repeal the laws of physics or overcome careless driving actions. Performance is limited by available traction, which snow, ice and other conditions can affect. When the ESC warning lamp in the instrument cluster flashes, the driver needs to use less throttle and adapt speed and driving behaviour to prevailing road conditions. Always drive carefully, consistent with conditions. Please always wear your seat belt.
